Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data the CS2 RU Discord bots and web services collect, why we need it, how long we keep it, and how you can have it removed.
1. Who processes your data
Your data is processed by the administration of the CS2 RU Discord community, referred to below as "we". We are not a commercial organisation: the community and its services are run by a team of volunteers.

2. Scope
This policy covers our Discord bots — including CS2 RU | Core, CS2 RU | Automod, CS2RU HELPER and CS2 RU | Faceit — and the websites under the cs2ru.online domain. It does not cover Discord itself; see the Discord Privacy Policy for that.
3. What we collect

We do not collect passwords, payment details, postal addresses, phone numbers, or the contents of direct messages.
4. How we handle message content
In public channels designated by the administration, our bot reviews messages against the server rules — insults, provocation, flooding, excessive caps, off-topic posting and advertising.
- The message text is sent to the Google Gemini API for classification and is discarded once a verdict is returned.
- Message content is never written to our database.
- When a violation is likely, the bot posts an excerpt of the message to a private staff channel inside Discord. A human always makes the final decision — the bot never issues punishments automatically.
- Direct messages and private channels are never monitored. The list of monitored channels is disclosed to members.
- Message content is never used to train machine learning models.
5. Legal basis
We process this data because it is necessary to operate the community and enforce its rules. Participation is voluntary, and using our bots and websites constitutes agreement with this policy. You may withdraw that agreement by leaving the server and requesting deletion, as described in section 8.
6. Who we share data with
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising. Sharing is limited to the services our features depend on:

We may disclose data where required by law.
7. Storage and retention
Data is stored in a PostgreSQL database on a dedicated server under our control. The database is not reachable from the internet and is accessible to administrators only over an encrypted connection. Each service has its own database account, restricted to its own schema.

Moderation records are deliberately kept longer than everything else: without an infraction history there is no fair way to escalate penalties for repeat offences or to review an appeal.
8. Your rights
You may:
- request a copy of the data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate data;
- request deletion of your data;
- opt out of activity tracking if you are a staff member — contact the administration.
Send requests to privacy@cs2ru.online, including your Discord ID. We respond within 30 days.
One limitation applies: records of punishments that are still in force are deleted only once the punishment ends. Otherwise, requesting deletion would become a way to evade a ban. All other data is deleted on request without conditions.
9. Children
Our services are intended for Discord users and follow Discord's minimum age requirement — 13 years, or higher where local law requires it. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone below that age. If such data has reached us by mistake, tell us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and announce it on the Discord server. Continued use of our services after that constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
